  1. Turn off the power: First, ensure the power to the disposal is turned off.

  2. Check the motor: Use the wrench supplied with your disposal. Hook it onto the bottom and try to turn the motor manually. If it spins freely, the wrench will turn easily.

  3. Reset the unit: Locate the reset button on the bottom of the disposal unit. Press it to reset the motor.
